REbeL (verb): to resist or rise against.
Why We REbeL
We REbeL to be agents of social change. We REbeL against body shaming, the diet culture, valuing appearance over health and character, and anything that makes YOU feel "less than." We REbeL to transform our world for the better.
REbeL was founded by a licensed psychologist and eating disorder specialist in 2009 in a high school in the Kansas City area. We are a research-based program that empowers students in middle and high schools to be change agents. Through our 24 chapters we impact thousands of students each year but we need YOUR help to continue and expand upon our mission.
We REbeL because we know from our own research, as well as from current students, school administrators, parents, and REbeL alumni that we are making a difference. Students who participate in REbeL have a more positive body image and healthier eating behaviors and attitudes compared to students who don’t have access to REbeL. We REbeL because there is so much more work to be done and so many more beauty-full lives to impact.
YOU can be a part of the incredible difference REbeL is creating for our youth. Because of YOU, more teens will be empowered to change the definition of beauty and health for every body. YOU have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people. Be a part of the change today!
Our goal is to raise $15,000 between now and December 31st, 2017. All monies raised during this campaign will be used to support chapter growth and program expansion throughout the United States. During this campaign YOU have the opportunity to provide a general donation or to support the specific needs of REbeL through a donation package ranging from $50-$2500.
We hope YOU understand Why We REbeL. Be an agent of social change - join the REbeLution and donate today!
